HON
Her Online Network
Founded by Stockholm-based entrepreneur Aleksandra Avli, the female social network HON (Her Online Network) is a space for professional women to find guidance, community, and growth alongside like-minded peers. HON is a digital app designed for online networking, but it’s also a vibrant community that hosts talks, events, and meetups. Rooted in the desire to create empowering spaces for professional women, HON places authenticity at the heart of everything it does.
Initially, HON featured a somewhat stale, white, and stereotypically “appy” aesthetic. They reached out to me with the goal of creating a more dynamic and engaging design that would resonate with their target audience.
That audience consists of design-savvy women across a broad age range — women who are culturally engaged and familiar with art, fashion, and design. It was important that the new visual identity avoided clichés: nothing too overtly “feminist” or overly youthful, as those directions were seen as outdated and exclusive. The goal was to create a look and feel that was more mature, inclusive, and welcoming.
We designed the brand identity, website, and app wireframes. In addition, we developed social media templates for Instagram, newsletter layouts, and printed merchandise for various HON events.
