Bord 13
Restaurant and wine bar

Bord 13 is a restaurant and wine bar located in Malmö. It was founded by a former sous-chef and a head sommelier from Rosforth & Rosforth, both of whom previously worked at the world-renowned Danish restaurant Noma — ranked No. 1 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Their ambition was to bring the energy and culinary spirit of Copenhagen’s food scene to the south of Sweden.

The project included concept development and naming, full visual identity design, and the design and sourcing of the entire interior.

In the restaurant world, serving table number 13 is considered bad luck—fittingly, it’s also the name of this restaurant (in Swedish). Located on street number 13, the space leans into superstition as a core part of its identity.

To emphasize this theme, we created a bold black-and-white visual identity that centers around the number 13 as its hero. In collaboration with artist Emilie Florin, we developed experimental, slightly morbid illustrations that reinforced the concept.

The monochrome identity serves as a striking contrast to the restaurant’s light, Nordic, and understated interior—creating a memorable and unexpected experience.
